Luigi D'Andrea (1985)

special effects Make Up Artist and Creature Maker, Prosthetics, Sculpture, eye making, Mechanics and animatronics, pyro ... for film and tv

Always been passionate about cinema, in 2006, moved by the enthusiasm and self-taught instinct, I have undertaken a personal research on the techniques and materials used in the field of Special Effects, thus starting my career as Special FX Make Up Artist, Sculptor and Creature Designer for Film and Television Productions.

Among my first experiences, people known me for giving life to the first big Italian Werewolf, more than two meters tall, mix of costume and mechanical parts, made for the short movie "Versipellis" by Donatello Della Pepa.

I took part in national and international productions, including the Turkish film "Veda" by Zülfü Livaneli, "ACAB - All Cops Are Bastards" by Stefano Sollima, "Reality" by Matteo Garrone, the Tv series "I Borgia - (The Seven Sorrows)" by Christoph Schrewe, "Tale of Tales" by Matteo Garrone (awarded for the Best Make Up at the 60th Edition of David di Donatello), "Ben Hur" remake by Timur Bekmambetov, "Assassin's Creed" by Justin Kurzel, "Guarda in Alto (Look Up)" by Fulvio Risuleo, "Shadow of War Friend or Foe" Live Action Trailer by Neil Huxley, "The First King" by Matteo Rovere, "Dogman" by Matteo Garrone and many other production.

Moreover I am one of the founders of the project EffectUs, Italian Cultural Association that promotes the collaboration and exchange of knowledge and techniques among the national and international special effects artists, also creating the annual convention: EffectUs Event.
